Job summary

TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital in Houston, Texas is seeking a Part-Time PACU Registered Nurse to provide specialized post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from surgery. You will monitor patients, assist with discharge planning, and support the surgical team.

The ideal candidate has Texas RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and 2 years of PACU or critical care experience, with strong communication and decision-making abilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
• BLS and ACLS required (PALS if required by the center).
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care to individuals emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for both patients and families in preparation for discharge.
• Assist physicians as needed with tasks in the procedure rooms, including conscious sedation and utilizing sterile techniques as appropriate.
