Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center in Missouri seeks a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide immediate post-operative care, monitor neurological and cardiac status, manage airway support, and assist with wound care under the surgical and anesthesia team.

The role includes on-call availability during certain non-business hours and a commitment to patient safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications

• RN licensure (state)
• Prior PACU or ICU experience required
• On-call availability during select non-business hours

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the PACU and post-anesthesia setting.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure smooth perioperative care.
• Apply the nursing process with critical thinking, safety, and evidence-based practice.
• Monitor patient status, document changes, and respond to complications.
• Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment, and follow-up.
