Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• 1 year PACU experience or 1 year in a high-acuity ICU prior to application.
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken, read and written).
• Knowledge of medical procedures and ability to follow policies and procedures (blood collection, apheresis, etc.).
• Registered Nurse license to practice in California (CA BRN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from American Heart Association.
• CCR N or CPAN preferred (CCRN/CPAN is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to PACU patients.
• Coordinate patient care and education for patients and families.
• Explain health treatments and educate patients and families.
• Delegate tasks based on scope of practice and patient needs.
• Evaluate care effectiveness and modify plans accordingly.
• Act as patient advocate and participate in care planning.
• Collaborate with surgeons, other staff and ancillary teams.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality control activities.
