Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide evidence-based post-anesthesia care and patient/family education in the recovery phase. The role emphasizes safety, coordination with perioperative teams, and ongoing quality improvement.

Minimum BSN with 1 year PACU or high-acuity ICU experience, strong English communication, and CA RN licensure plus BLS/ACLS/PALS. On-site opportunity with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• BSN required (grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019).
• 1 year PACU experience or 1 year in a high-acuity ICU setting before application.
• Excellent communication skills in English (read, write, speak).
• Knowledge of medical procedures including whole blood collection and apheresis, per policies.
• Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide PACU nursing care using evidence-based practice to manage physiological and behavioral patient needs.
• Coordinate patient care and education for patients and families during recovery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, staff, and ancillary teams to ensure safe, effective care.
• Support performance improvement, quality control and staff education.
