Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC seeks a PACU Registered Nurse to deliver therapeutic care within an interdisciplinary team. The RN coordinates patient care and education for patients and families, following standards and policies in a compassionate environment.

The role requires a BSN, CA RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PACU/ICU experience. Cerner Millenium experience preferred. Competitive hourly rate between $45.76 and $98.80 with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• BSN required; grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019
• 1 year PACU experience or one year in a high acuity Intensive Care setting immediately prior to application
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
• Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and perform duties including whole blood collection and apheresis procedures
• Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service
• Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
• Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, obtain within 30 days and renew before expiration (LA City only)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Healthcare Provider
• CCR N or CPAN preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect care using the nursing process in PACU
• Explains health treatment and educates patients and families
• Collaborates with surgeon, coworkers and staff in patient care
• Maintains Cerner Millenium order entry and documentation
• Participates in performance improvement and quality control activities
• Assists in orientation, training and continuing education for staff
• Adheres to hospital policies and regulatory requirements
• Demonstrates age-specific care and patient advocacy
