Job summary

Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide age-appropriate post-anesthesia care to patients waking from surgery. The role includes supporting families during recovery and coordinating pre-op holding area care for incoming patients from ED and other units.

The RN will delegate and supervise nursing care, adhere to evidence-based practices, and contribute to quality-improvement initiatives while upholding the hospital’s mission and standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an RN in the state of Illinois.
• Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
• Ability to position/transfer adult patients and perform IV/IM duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide total age-appropriate post-anesthesia care to patients waking from anesthesia.
• Offer family visits as appropriate during recovery.
• Serve as inpatient pre-op holding area liaison for ED/nursing units to OR.
• Delegate, supervise, and provide nursing care per the nursing process.
