Job summary

Safety Harbor Surgery Center is hiring a Preop/PACU Registered Nurse to join our PACU team in Florida. The RN will provide continuity of care for patients emerging from anesthesia, monitor patient safety, and collaborate with surgeons and staff throughout the perioperative process.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited RN program, holds an active RN license, and has current BLS/ACLS; 2 years PACU/CCU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for PACU patients emerging from anesthesia.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, sedation, and sterile technique.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients and families for discharge prep.

Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Safety Harbor Surgery Center

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
