Safety Harbor Surgery Center is seeking a Charge Nurse for PREOP/PACU to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while ensuring safety, privacy, and comfort.

The role requires an accredited RN degree, active Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS, and preferred PACU/CCU experience. Strong communication and decisive judgment are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
• Maintain continuity and quality nursing care; assist physicians in procedure rooms as needed with sterile technique and conscious sedation.

Charge Nurse (PREOP/PACU) at Safety Harbor Surgery Center

The Charge PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
