Job summary

Safety Harbor Surgery Center is seeking a Charge Nurse for PREOP/PACU to ensure continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia or sedation. The role includes patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout recovery and discharge planning.

The Charge PACU RN will support the medical team in procedure rooms, assist with conscious sedation, and coordinate assessments and care plans for each patient and family.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make nursing judgments and prioritize workload.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all PACU patients.
• Evaluate patient condition continuously with safety and privacy maintained.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms, with sedation and sterile techniques.
• Plan and implement discharge readiness for patients and families.

Charge Nurse (PREOP/PACU) at Safety Harbor Surgery Center

The Charge PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
