Job summary

Select Physicians Surgery Center in Tampa, FL seeks a PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, high-quality care for patients emerging from anesthesia. The PACU RN will monitor patient status, ensure safety and privacy, and support physicians during procedures with sterile technique and sedation as needed.

Qualified candidates will have an active Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS, and preferably 2 years in PACU or Critical Care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Continuously evaluate the patient’s condition to ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including discharge preparation.

PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Select Physicians Surgery Center
The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
