Job summary

Longleaf Surgery Center is hiring a Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia. The role includes monitoring patient status, ensuring safety and privacy, and supporting physicians in the OR with sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have an accredited RN education, an active state license, BLS/ACLS (PALS as required), and at least 2 years in PACU or critical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Evaluate patient condition continually to ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation.
• Provide total care for patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; plan and evaluate discharge readiness.

Longleaf Surgery Center is a physician owned multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) conveniently located on Starkey Blvd nestled inside the Longleaf Community in Trinity. Our current specialties include foot and ankle surgery, shoulder surgery, knee surgery, spine surgery, hand surgery, and pain management. We are an established ASC accredited by the Joint Commission with an excellent track record for performance.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Center/Hospital Name

The Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing

• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
