Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the PACU, per diem, day shifts. The role supports RN in preoperative and postoperative areas, performs vitals, prepares supplies, and assists with ADLs and patient transport. Strong communication, basic math/English, and BLS certification are required.

PACU experience preferred; CNA enrollment acceptable. You will operate in a fast-paced perioperative setting and maintain patient confidentiality while contributing

Qualifications

• Written and verbal English and Math skills at 12th grade level.
• PACU experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
• Registration/Certification: CNA or nursing program enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct assistance to the RN in preoperative and postoperative areas.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, height/weight, and other measurements.
• Assists patient with ADLs (dressing, toileting, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties including order entry, requisitions, and chart preparation; cross-trained to Surgical Reception.
• Transports patients to/from hospital departments and inpatient units.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
