Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, TX, is seeking a PACU Nurse Aide for the day shift to support nursing staff and deliver patient-centered care. You will assist with basic care, vital signs, and mobility under RN supervision while maintaining safety and dignity for each patient.

Candidates may have completed a nurse aide, medical assistant, or patient care technician program, and CPR certification is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must have completed or hold one of the listed nurse aide or medical support programs.
• Must have current Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire/placement.
• No prior experience required; currently enrolled nursing students may qualify with foundational nursing documents.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program and show basic fundamentals documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic hygiene care, unsterile treatments, vital signs, and ROM under RN supervision.
• Assist with mobility, feeding, and daily activities to support patient-centered care.
• Advocate for patients, maintain confidentiality, and communicate with families as needed.
• Record observations and care in the patient’s chart per unit standards.
• Maintain sanitation, infection control, and safe equipment usage in care areas.
• Escort patients, coordinate with other departments, and assist with translation if needed.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
