Job summary

Parkland Community Health Plan is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the PACU in Main Hospital Building, 3rd Floor. This full-time role operates under the direction of a Registered Nurse to deliver essential patient care, hygiene, vital signs, and safety in a fast-paced postoperative environment.

The position requires completion of a nurse aide or related program, CPR certification within 90 days, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a nurse aide course or be on a registry.
• CPR Heartsaver required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to provide basic hygiene care and vital signs.
• Excellent communication with staff, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic hygiene care and vital signs under RN supervision.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding and range of motion exercises.
• Record vital signs and patient data per unit standards.
• Monitor safety, sanitation, and equipment conditions.
