Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas is seeking a Night shift (7 pm-7 am) PRN patient care technician or nurse aide. The role focuses on basic hygiene, vital signs, ROM, and assisting with patient needs under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Candidates should have completed or be enrolled in an approved nurse aide or medical assistant program, possess CPR certification within 90 days, and demonstrate strong patient-centered care and communication skills with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must have completed or be enrolled in one of the listed education pathways.
• Must hold a current Heartsaver CPR completion card within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrate basic patient care skills and use of supplies/equipment.
• Effective communication with nurses, physicians, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform specified patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide basic hygiene care, unsterile treatments, vital signs, and ROM exercises.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding and transportation of patients.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and advocate for patient needs.
• Document activities and patient status as required by the unit.
• Support sanitation, infection control, safety, and equipment checks.
