Job summary

Katmai Government Services seeks a skilled registered nurse to support surgical services at a military treatment facility in Colorado. Provide preop, intraop, and postop nursing care, monitor patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current Colorado or compact RN license, BCLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least two years in PACU/ICU/ER. You will adhere to CDC precautions, maintain records, and participate in orientation and training.

Qualifications

• Requires ADN nursing degree and ACEN/CCNE accreditation.
• Current RN license in Colorado or in a Nurse Compact/Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications maintained in current status.
• Minimum 2 years PACU/ICU/ER nursing experience in the last 3 years.
• Must pass a medication dosage test administered by the facility.
• Complete competency-based orientation based on medical-surgical requirements.
• Familiarity with medical-surgical equipment and standards of care.
• Site health screening and background checks obtained and maintained.
• Complete credentialing documents as required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with diverse patients.

Responsibilities

• Collect, interpret, and communicate pertinent patient data around surgery.
• Observe patients and take appropriate actions as indicated by problems.
• Prepare patients per protocols for exams, tests, and surgery.
• Develop care plans and establish nursing outcomes.
• Administer medications per physician orders and monitor effects.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and follow CDC precautions.
• Maintain patient privacy and medical records.
• Coordinate with facility staff to optimize patient care.
• Orient and train new staff in ASU/PACU and Preop Clinic.
