Job summary

The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS is seeking an intermittent Registered Nurse to support the Primary Care Department and Veterans in a patient-centered care model.

The RN will provide direct care, care coordination, and health promotion with a focus on prevention and chronic disease management. Responsibilities include panel management, education, collaboration on policies, and leadership within the PACT team.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency is required for direct patient care and communication.
• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by accrediting bodies (ACEN/CCNE).
• BSN preferred in many cases; ADN or diploma eligible with licensing.
• Bridge program candidates may pursue licensure while completing the program.
• State license required for employment; temporary appointment possible during licensure.
• Foreign graduate considerations and degree validation may be required.
• GNT exception allows temporary placement while pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct Veteran care and care coordination in Primary Care.
• Manage assigned patient panels using registries to ensure access and evaluation.
• Promote health education, wellness, and chronic care management.
• Collaborate to develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures.
• Support peers with knowledge sharing to ensure safe, high-quality care.
