Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a PACS Administrator to oversee the Picture Archiving and Communication System, ensuring secure, reliable access to imaging data for clinicians and patients. You will coordinate with IT, radiology staff, and vendors to maintain system uptime and data integrity.

Responsibilities include user access management, troubleshooting, training, regulatory compliance (HIPAA), data storage, and integration with other hospital systems.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in radiologic technology, information systems analysis, or database management required.
• Strong knowledge of PACS hardware and software systems.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and data privacy regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication across clinical, technical, and vendor teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day PACS operations, including system maintenance, user access, troubleshooting, and data reconciliation.
• Serve as liaison between facility, PACS vendors, radiologists, and other stakeholders for updates, stability, and maintenance.
• Provide user training and ongoing support for PACS-related applications and processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support quality and process-improvement initiatives.
• Monitor system performance and escalate hardware or software issues to vendors as needed.
• Investigate and propose solutions to PACS operational challenges.
• Administer system access by creating, modifying, and deactivating user accounts.
• Facilitate data storage, organization, and retrieval with data integrity and timely access to imaging records.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards, including HIPAA.
• Collaborate with IT and clinical staff to integrate PACS with other hospital systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
