Job summary

San Mateo County Health – San Mateo Medical Center is seeking a Departmental Systems Analyst – PACS Administrator to lead PACS administration in a hospital setting. The role focuses on managing imaging applications, configuring access controls, and ensuring system reliability for diagnostic workflows.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience with PACS/RIS systems, strong knowledge of DICOM/HL7, and the ability to collaborate with radiology, IT, and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems or closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting PACS or enterprise imaging systems.
• Knowledge of DICOM and HL7 standards and healthcare interfaces.
• Experience in hospital imaging workflows and vendor coordination.
• HIPAA and healthcare data privacy knowledge.
• Ability to work with clinical, IT and administrative teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support PACS and imaging applications.
• Manage PACS configuration, access, and security.
• Monitor system performance, storage, and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate vendor and IT resolutions.
• Participate in system upgrades, testing, and change management.
• Maintain documentation and downtime procedures.
• Support DICOM connectivity between modalities, RIS, EMR/EHR.
• Collaborate to optimize imaging workflows.
• Track issues with vendors and ensure timely resolutions.
