Job summary

Textron Systems in Utah is seeking a Full-time Packing/Mechanical Engineer III focused on transportation packaging design and integration. The role requires coordinating with suppliers and multidiscipline teams, converting designs into production-ready specs, and supporting secure clearance processes.

Candidates should have 5+ years in mechanical engineering, CAD/GD&T proficiency, MIL-STD-810 familiarity, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and structural design.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 transport requirements, including shock, vibration, environmental hazards.
• CAD design utilizing 3D digital product development tools and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• Possesses or has ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Writing specifications for, or designing, packaging for transportation, storage and handling of deliverable items weighing from a few to up to several hundred pounds
• Participating in the detailed design of structural components.
• Being a member of a team responsible for the development and design integration of mechanical components and systems.
• Creation of Technical Data Packages that include 3D drawings, specifications and materials lists for component and assemblies of mechanical and electro-mechanical applications.
• Preparing and directing high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings
• Transitioning product design to production and test.
• Writing technical and proposal documents.
• Creating detailed design reports and presentations to summarize design/analysis results.
