Job summary

Little Leaf Farms in Manchester, TN is seeking a Packing Lead to oversee weighing, packaging, labeling, and palletizing of leafy greens, ensuring GMP and SSOP adherence. The role emphasizes sanitation oversight for about half the shift.

You will train and supervise a production team, optimize throughput, and coordinate sanitation activities with FSQA and Operations while maintaining a safe, efficient packing line.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in refrigerated environments.
• Ability to perform basic math and basic computer skills.
• Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of harvested lettuce through the conveyor belts and scales into finished goods.
• Place cartons and lids onto production lines while keeping pace with the machinery.
• Ensure labeling and lot/date coding correspond with lettuce being harvested for the shift.
• Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications.
• Maintain a flow of corrugated boxes to the filling stage in the packaging process.
• Stack finished corrugated cases onto wooden pallets.
• Sanitation & cleanup of all processing areas throughout the day.
• Lead and oversee post-production sanitation activities to ensure equipment and production areas are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with SSOPs.
• Train and motivate the department personnel and supervise them fairly.
