Job summary

Little Leaf Farms in Shirley, MA, is seeking a production associate to oversee weighing, packaging and labeling of leafy greens at the lowest possible cost while adhering to good manufacturing practices. You will operate scales, packaging equipment, and palletize finished cases.

Duties include managing lettuce flow through conveyors, reading scales, ensuring correct labeling and lot/date codes, maintaining sanitation, and training/supervising department personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in refrigerated environments for 8+ hour periods.
• Must perform monotonous tasks with efficiency over long shifts.
• Must stand on concrete floors for long periods.
• Must perform basic math and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of harvested lettuce through conveyors and scales.
• Place cartons and lids onto production lines.
• Ensure labeling and lot/date coding match the harvested lettuce for the shift.
• Read scales and verify case weights according to customer specs.
• Maintain supply of boxes and palletize finished cases.
• Lift up to 30 lbs safely and operate Ishida scales.
• Setup production equipment at start of shift and train personnel.
• Adhere to GMP and HACCP; maintain sanitary conditions throughout the day.
