Job summary

OmniMax is seeking a Packer to support machine operators by ensuring materials, tools, and workflow are prepared and maintained throughout the shift. This role helps keep production running efficiently by minimizing downtime, maintaining organization, and assisting with safe, high-quality output.

The Packer will accompany the operator in daily production activities, stage raw materials, and help with setup needs and changeovers to ensure a smooth line‑throughput.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment (preferred but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and follow standard work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Assist machine operator with daily production activities.
  • Stage materials and components at the line prior to production.
  • Support changeovers by preparing materials, tools, and setup needs.
  • Keep the line supplied to prevent downtime.
  • Assist with basic production paperwork and job tracking.

The Packer supports the machine/operator by ensuring materials, tools, and workflow are properly prepared and maintained throughout the shift. This role is critical to keeping production running efficiently by minimizing downtime, maintaining organization, and assisting with safe, high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas (6S standards)
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Participate in safety meetings and incident investigations
  • Support a goal of zero incidents
  • Keep walkways, workstations, and staging areas clear of hazards
  • Always operate equipment in a safe manner
Production Support
  • Assist the machine operator with daily production activities
  • Stage raw materials and components at the line prior to production
  • Remove finished goods and transfer to designated areas
  • Support changeovers by preparing materials, tools, and setup needs
  • Keep the line supplied to prevent downtime
Material Handling & Flow
  • Move materials to and from production lines using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified)
  • Ensure correct materials are staged per job/work order
  • Remove scrap and excess materials from the line
  • Maintain clear, organized staging areas
Quality Support
  • Assist operator with visual inspections of finished products.
  • Identify and report defects or inconsistencies
  • Ensure proper labeling and identification of materials and finished goods
  • Support first-piece and in-process checks as directed
Documentation & System Awareness
  • Assist with basic production paperwork and job tracking
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and job requirements
  • Ensure materials and finished goods are properly identified with labels and tracked
Team Support
  • Work closely with the operator and production lead to maintain workflow
  • Communicate material shortages or issues proactively
  • Assist other lines or departments as needed
Key Success Metrics
  • Minimal production downtime due to material shortages
  • Accurate staging of materials (right material, right place, right time)
  • Clean and organized work area
  • Adherence to safety standards
  • Support of production output goals
Qualifications
  • 1+ year experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
  • Experience in building materials or metal manufacturing
