Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc., located in LeSueur, Minnesota, is known as the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant. It lies along the Minnesota River. LeSueur is home to a historic downtown, a variety of housing, a great school district, fishing, apple orchards, and a friendly community.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Inspects eggs to assure quality and fitness for consumption, as well as packages eggs in a variety of containers by performing the following duties.

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance in relation to production schedule and/or time volunteered for.
• Observe eggs moving on conveyor, placing leaking eggs in buckets and/or inedible barrels.
• Pack salable eggs on racks, pallets, or in boxes according to daily production demands.
• Ensure proper cartons are used and closed correctly with proper printing on cartons.
• Ensure code dates on cartons are legible, correct, and facing in the right direction when packed on racks.
• Remove damaged eggs from cartons and/or flats, replacing them with clean, undamaged, and properly sized eggs.
• Remove dirty eggs from cartons and/or flats to be re-washed, replacing them with clean, undamaged, and properly sized eggs.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and productive work area, including cleaning egg spillage and disposing of waste properly.
• Communicate regularly with machine operators, co-workers, management, and quality assurance personnel regarding deviations in egg quality to ensure standards are upheld.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Adhere to safe work practices, GMPs, and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality and safety. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, quality, or personnel safety.
• Follow safety guidelines for forklift and mule operation, including pre-shift inspections and safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.75 per hour.
