Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. located in LeSueur, Minnesota, is known as the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant. It lies along the Minnesota River. LeSueur is home to a historic downtown, a variety of housing, a great school district, fishing, an apple orchard, and a friendly community.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Inspects eggs to assure quality and fitness for consumption, as well as packages eggs in a variety of containers by performing the following duties.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance in relation to the production schedule and/or time volunteered for.
• Observe the eggs moving on the conveyor, placing leaking eggs in buckets and/or inedible barrels.
• Pack salable eggs on racks, pallets, or in boxes according to daily production demands.
• Ensure proper cartons are used and closed correctly with proper printing on cartons.
• Ensure code dates on cartons are legible, correct, and facing in the right direction when packed on racks.
• Pull damaged eggs from cartons or flats, replacing them with clean, undamaged, and proper-sized eggs.
• Pull dirty eggs from cartons or flats to be re-washed, replacing them with clean, undamaged, and proper-sized eggs.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and productive work area, including cleaning egg spillage and disposing of waste properly.
• Communicate regularly with machine operators, co-workers, management, and quality assurance personnel regarding deviations in egg quality to uphold standards and ensure a quality product.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Adhere to safe work practices, GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality. Report any conditions affecting food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
• Follow safety guidelines for forklift and mule operations, including pre-shift inspections and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Note: The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.75 per hour.
