Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking motivated team members to help pack product in the 3rd shift, ensuring accurate labeling and safe handling in a production environment.

You will lift and move boxes, perform routine machine setup, cleaning, and participate in rotating duties while complying with sanitation, GMP, and SQF requirements. Benefits start day one and overtime may apply.

• Pack product and ensure proper labeling and dating.
• Stack boxes up to 30 pounds and palletize as needed.
• Lift product up to 30 pounds during processing and movement.
• Set up and tear down machines; clean equipment after shifts.

Position Summary

This position will pack product within the department.

Responsibilities

• Continuously check for proper labeling and dating of product.
• Stack boxes of product weighing up to 30 pounds, 7 rows high, onto a pallet when the auto-palletizer is down.
• Lift up to 30 pounds of product to empty lugs.
• Lift rework tank covers up to 50 pounds.
• Push/pull tanks of product weighing up to 1,000 pounds using appropriate equipment.
• Remove product from conveyor.
• Box #1 product, within proper weight constraints, while sorting out leakers and non-number 1 product.
• Move product to pans if machine is down.
• Unload pans of meat back into the machine when time permits.
• Feed sausage into Tiermat packaging machine.
• Check for proper labeling and dating of product.
• Setup and tear down all machines.
• Clean machines at the end of the shift.
• Execute proper procedures for collection and processing tests.
• Open and rerun all #1 product that has a label that is not straight/tabs off etc.
• Identify rework to final packaging.
• Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
• Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork and SAP functions as required.
• Comply with all sanitation procedures.
• Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
• Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
• Perform any other work as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability and willingness to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
• Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
• Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
