Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle in Loves Park, IL seeks a Packaging/Manufacturing Technician to support integrated work systems and continuous improvement. You will help operate packaging lines, monitor product flow, perform quality checks, and participate in safety and cleanliness initiatives.

Training and certifications will be pursued for assigned equipment areas. The role emphasizes problem solving, adherence to GMP, and the ability to work overtime as needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Willingness to work overtime hours to meet customer demand.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packaging equipment to maintain product flow from extruder discharge to palletize.
• Perform quality checks including metal, seals, code date, weight, and case counts/weights.
• Monitor and maintain correct product/case weights and scrap handling.
• Troubleshoot equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Enter data into the computer and follow GMP/safety practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with sanitation and shift hand-offs.
