Job summary

Merck is seeking a Specialist, Technical Operations Engineer to provide technical support for packaging and medical device assembly lines at our Wilson, NC site. The role focuses on equipment performance, on-site troubleshooting, and coordination with Packaging Technology and Global Engineering Services to transfer new products and processes to Wilson.

Primary duties include resolving equipment problems, leading root-cause analyses, supporting design and qualification of packaging components,

Qualifications

BS in Engineering or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of experience with packaging/process equipment.
Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot/resolve equipment issues.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to packaging operations in resolving equipment problems for in-line products.
Lead root cause analysis and deviation investigations for process and equipment related quality events.
Support design, machinability evaluation, and qualification of new or modified packaging components and Medical Device products.
Assist scale-up and technology transfer from pilot to production, including equipment design, qualification, and process validation.
Lead small-scale capital projects and collaborate on equipment design, procurement and qualification.
