Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc is seeking a Specialist, Technical Operations Engineer to provide technical support for packaging and medical device assembly lines at the Wilson site, coordinating with site and global teams to transfer products and processes. You will lead issue resolution, qualification of new equipment, and support scale-up and technology transfer from pilot to production.

The role requires a BS in Engineering with at least 1 year of experience in packaging equipment, strong troubleshooting

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of experience with packaging/process equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot/resolve equipment issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to packaging operations in resolving equipment problems for in-line products.
• Lead root cause analysis and deviation investigations for process and equipment related quality events.
• Provide technical support for design, machinability evaluation, and qualification of packaging components and Medical Device/Combination Products.
• Support scale-up and technology transfer of pilot processes to production including equipment design, qualification, process demonstration, and process validation.
• Lead small-scale capital projects and collaborate with Packaging Technology and Global Engineering Services on equipment design, procurement, and qualification.
• Author process change controls and implement packaging and device assembly equipment/process changes.
• Enhance process robustness through line trials, data analysis of equipment performance, and proactive monitoring strategies.
• Support regulatory audits with documentation and ensure inspection readiness.
