Job Description

This is a REMOTE position and the candidate should be located in the North-East to South-East region.

Job Summary

Lead packaging business development from inception into quoting, production, and maintain effective communication with sales and manufacturing teams. Participate in project design phases by working with structural packaging design engineers on prototypes, ensuring all manufacturing criteria and customer expectations are met. Provide timely solutions to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess client, sales, manufacturing, and stakeholder information to create innovative packaging solutions considering visual and structural integrity, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.
• Collaborate with structural packaging design team members to identify and develop optimal packaging solutions.
• Interpret concrete and abstract directions from clients, sales, and management to develop solutions exceeding customer expectations.
• Support all RFP/RFQ requests from sales and management.
• Communicate the reasoning behind design and material decisions to stakeholders clearly.
• Maintain organized management of large, ongoing projects with multiple components and revisions.
• Stay updated on new packaging trends, materials, and technologies.
• Conduct market research to identify, evaluate, and launch new growth opportunities.
• Act as a project manager for new opportunities by developing business cases, researching potential partners, coordinating market research, and collaborating with marketing for sales and marketing materials.
• Identify key market metrics and report on industry developments.
• Track and report performance metrics, adjusting projections based on insights from industry events, customer behavior, and technological advancements.
• Provide ongoing competitive intelligence on competitors.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and coach others on similar initiatives.
• Travel approximately 25% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in the packaging industry, preferably in folding cartons.
• Knowledge of Folding Carton, Rigid Box, Pulp Tray, Inserts, Corrugate, POP Displays, Retail & Industrial Packaging.
• 3+ years experience in business development, contracts, licensing, or marketing.
• Based in the Eastern part of the country, preferably Southeast.
• Strong research skills, excellent communication skills, and a solid financial background.
• Proven project management capabilities and comfort working with ambiguity.

Additional Information

All information will be kept confidential per EEO guidelines. Salary range is $98,100 to $156,900/year, adjusted based on location, education, skills, and experience. Compensation may include bonuses or incentives. Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, 401(k), insurance, parental leave, tuition assistance, and discounts.
