Job summary

Riviana Foods Inc. in Memphis, TN seeks a Packaging Supervisor to oversee hourly staff across packaging lines, ensuring safe, efficient operations and compliance with quality standards.

You will coordinate with production, maintenance, warehouse, and QA teams, staff lines, and manage daily logs and discipline as required. The role requires a high school diploma (college degree preferred), 2+ years supervisory manufacturing experience (food industry preferred), strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required; College degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or related environments; food manufacturing preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to lead and train a team.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math skills and the ability to compute ratios, timing, and equipment speeds.
• Comfort with using computers, RF scanners, tablets, and HMIs.

Responsibilities

• Assign and move personnel on production lines to meet operational needs.
• Communicate line status and requirements with Plant Scheduler, Packaging and Warehouse Supervisors, and Managers.
• Coordinate packaging supply requirements with Warehouse, Supply Operators, and Production teams.
• Maintain daily shift logs for labor and machine utilization; assign cost center placements in time and attendance systems.
• Oversee rice transfers between departments to ensure packaging schedules are met.
• Notify Maintenance Supervisors of equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance.
• Direct and train personnel on-line duties, responsibilities, and safety procedures.
• Participate in line adjustments and troubleshooting (code dates, glue, rail, changeovers).
• Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and address discipline per policy.
• Negotiate labor issue resolutions with Union Stewards as required.
• Maintain GMP, HACCP, and sanitation procedures; document records.
