Job summary

GPAC is seeking a 1st Shift Packaging Specialist for a growing family-owned food manufacturer in the Greater Boston area. The role involves following the production schedule, ensuring proper labeling, packing supplies, and equipment are prepared to meet customer specs.

You will train staff on packing processes and operate packaging machinery safely. Responsibilities include creating pallet tags, transporting pallets to coolers, and maintaining Label Verification Forms to ensure accuracy and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food safety policies and proper food handling practices.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Follow production schedule to anticipate products and ensure materials, labels, packaging supplies, and equipment are prepared to meet specifications.
• Coordinate with and train employees on packing processes and machinery operation, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Create pallet tags for finished pallets with correct labeling and customer compliance.
• Transport finished pallets to coolers/freezers and fill out Pick Tickets accurately.
• Complete and maintain Label Verification Forms for accuracy and production compliance.
