Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Packaging Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Altavista, VA. This Tier Level 2 Packaging/Inspection role is ideal for candidates with manufacturing, production, packaging, or quality inspection experience who are comfortable working in a structured, fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality and production standards.
• Label, package, and prepare products according to established procedures and documentation requirements.
• Maintain accurate production, packaging, inspection, and quality records.
• Follow GMP, clean-room, safety, and quality procedures as required.
• Support production operations by assisting with assigned manufacturing and packaging tasks.
• Identify quality concerns or process issues and report them to the appropriate team members.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: $19 per hour.
• Job Type: Contract-to-hire.
• Location: Altavista, VA.
• Schedule: 12-hour overnight shift.
• Schedule Options: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing, production, packaging, or inspection experience required.

• Ability to follow written instructions, standard operating procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing, production, or clean-room environment.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work a 12-hour overnight shift.
• Commitment to workplace safety, product quality, and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years of manufacturing or production experience.
• Experience with GMP procedures or clean-room environments.
• Quality inspection experience in a production setting.
• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
