Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Local Sales Representative in Houston, TX to drive packaging solutions, build strong customer relationships and hunt for new accounts in a fast-paced setting.

You will collaborate with operations and leadership to meet service expectations, develop strategic development plans by product line, and travel locally to meet clients. A results-driven mindset and excellent communication are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of demonstrated sales experience, preferably in packaging/containers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and solution orientation.
• Ability to travel locally within the selling area and state as required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles; measure self against standard of excellence.
• Build relationships with customers and prospects, and hunt for new accounts.
• Architect and articulate packaging solutions delivered through our distribution model; plan strategic development of core clients.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of key customers and targets; identify opportunities and document successes.
• Set sales budgets, strategies, and tactical plans by product line, customer, and market.
• Follow policies, pricing guidelines, and provide feedback on service quality.
