Job summary

Drug Plastics & Glass Company Inc. in Pennsylvania seeks a Packer/Inspector to join the manufacturing team. You will prepare cartons, apply labels, inspect bottles, and keep the area clean to meet customer specs.

Candidates should have basic math, strong communication, reading ability, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with overtime as needed. Plastics industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematics for calculations (addition/subtraction)
• Effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to read and interpret product specs and quality requirements
• Decision-making with appropriate action
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
• Vision correctable to 20/20 for defect identification
• Adequate hearing to understand instructions and conversations
• Willingness to work overtime as required
• Prior manufacturing/plastics experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain empty cartons from conveyor or other sources.
• Prepare cartons for stacking or tumbling products and place cartons appropriately.
• Apply carton labels per DPG Policy #002.
• Inspect bottles per PQS form and customer specs.
• Move full cartons from packing stand, then close according to procedure.
• Grind scrap and rejected bottles from machines.
• Complete daily production reports and submit to supervisor.
• Notify supervisor of product quality issues or equipment malfunctions.
• Enter production data into Plant Star system at shift end.
• Communicate problems with machine operation to the next shift packer/inspector.
• Perform duties in grinding, re-inspection, and quarantine areas per DPG policies.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas around equipment.
• Stay qualified in all aspects of Packer/Inspector role per Job Competencies.
• Follow GMPs and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
