Job summary

ALPLA is hiring a packaging operator in Bethlehem, PA. You will operate, maintain and troubleshoot multiple packaging equipment types, including inserters and closers, while ensuring product quality and labeling accuracy.

The role requires loading, building, and hand-packaging bottles, and documenting specifications. The position emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork within a family-owned global leader in sustainable packaging.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Capable of lifting 55 pounds and standing for up to 12 hours.
• Able to operate multiple packaging equipment types simultaneously.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards for machines and work area.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot packaging equipment (e.g., inserters, closers).
• Load, build and package bottles; apply labels and load materials.
• Perform routine cleaning and material handling.
• Document finished goods records and packaging specs; conduct visual quality checks.
• Perform changeovers and autonomous maintenance as needed.

What You Will Enjoy Doing

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot multiple types of packaging Equipment may include, but is not limited to:

• product inserters (CPK, TPK, VPM, PLU)
• top closers

Manual responsibilities include

• loading, building and making boxes
• hand packaging of bottles
• loading labels

Maintenance includes

• perform routine cleaning
• Loading/unloading packaging materials such as corrugate, containers or other raw materials
• Documentation:

Accurately document records of finished goods, packaging specifications, or any visual quality checks

• Perform changeovers of divers packaging equipment (eg case erector, partition inserter, top sealer, …)
• Applies correct labels
• Perform quality check consisting of visual inspection of overall product, labels and packaging integrity for defects
• Perform Autonomous maintenance

• Labeling Accuracy: Maintains a labeling accuracy rate of 100% by consistently following all labeling procedures without deviation.
• Quality Control Compliance: Performs all required quality checks with 100% completion and accuracy, identifying and reporting any defects per standard operating procedures.

W hat Makes You Great:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred
• Capable of lifting 55 pounds and to stand for a minimum of 12 hours
