Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Gaylord, Minnesota, is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator to ensure high-quality products are packaged on every shift. This full-time role runs 6:00am–6:00pm, with 12-hour day shifts and responsibilities across loading trays, maintaining equipment, and monitoring packaging processes.

You will perform sanitation in accordance with GMPs, support downtime maintenance, and uphold food safety and product quality standards while collaborating with team members.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, fractions, and ratios.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all tray packers and ensures proper operations (loading trays, maintaining proper glue volume).
• Maintains video jet to ensure they are properly cleaned and coded with clear print.
• Monitors shrink-wrap machine and adds film as required.
• Fill in for other Packaging machine operator for breaks and vacations.
• Monitor date on master shipper for legibility and corrective actions when necessary.
• Set-up of equipment and material for a production run.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe work area.
• Adhere to safe work practices and GMPs; report conditions affecting safety or quality.
