Job summary

Ventura Foods, located in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Machine Operator to operate and maintain filling and packaging equipment in a strict manufacturing environment. The role requires following GMPs, FSMA, and SQF standards, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, assist in training, document production and quality data, and support ongoing sanitation and product-library integrity.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Thorough knowledge of filling and packaging equipment.
• Good mechanical ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical abnormalities and to set up and maintain machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate filling and packaging equipment; complete daily/weekly PMs; perform minor repairs and replace defective parts.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust in the HMI.
• Maintain daily production and quality records; operate safely and keep area clean.
• Assist in training production assistants; ensure GMPs and safety rules are followed.
• Install and maintain information in the product library.
• Sanitize filling line equipment; perform CIP and follow PPE rules.
• Follow all food safety policies including SQF, GMPs and FSMA.
• Other duties as assigned.
