Job summary

Shearer’s Foods, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator at the Waterford Plant in Waterford, PA. The role requires running and changing over 3–5 packaging machines, ensuring efficiency and quality while communicating changes to nearby team members.

Overtime and weekend work are typical, with a night shift premium. Qualified candidates should demonstrate leadership, troubleshooting ability, basic computer skills, and strong time-management.

Qualifications

• Leadership – set the example and follow policies/procedures
• Troubleshooting – diagnose problems and address issues for mechanical and automation equipment
• Computer skills – basic computer skills to run production and verify data
• Time management – manage own time and complete changeovers timely
• Flexibility – be available for training periods and pre-shift meetings; overtime/weekends as needed
• Physical Demands – lift up to 60 lbs, team lift 75 lbs, stand 12+ hours, work in a fast, repetitive pace

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate packaging equipment, follow precise recipes and work procedures
• Perform changeovers and monitor quality tests and data collection
• Communicate changes and plans to teammates and supervision
• Use hand tools and operate equipment in a allergens- exposed environment
• Multi-task and prioritize tasks to maintain line efficiency and safety
