Position: Packaging Machine Operator

Shift: Nights
Option 1: 6:00pm – 6:00am on a 2-2-3 Rotation Schedule (Work 2 days, Off 2 days, Work 3 days).
Option 2: Sunday to Wednesday - 8PM to 6AM.

Location: Mount Vernon, OH

Pay rate: $18.50/hr

***This is a Contract to Hire role. The conversion to a permanent employee is contingent upon passing a Work Key evaluation (literacy levels and comprehension).

Job Description

The Packaging Operator I role is an entry-level position at the Mt. Vernon facility. Responsibilities include packaging, cleaning, and relieving for breaks. The primary work area is the production floor.

Job Responsibilities

1. Spot outbound trucks at load docks, ensuring dock-locks are engaged.
2. Reclaim off-quality unbonded loosefill and feed the material back to the forehearth.
3. Place bags on bagger equipment snouts to ensure proper packaging of finished goods.
4. Perform general cleanup duties in designated areas (e.g., sweeping, blowing down lines, cleaning break rooms).
5. Assist with preventive maintenance processes.
6. Perform other tasks as determined by plant staff.
7. Participate in safety and housekeeping programs as established.

Experience

• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
