Job summary

Idahoan Foods, LLC in Idaho Falls, ID is hiring a Machine Operator I for a 12-hour day shift on the packaging line. Primary duties include operating packaging machinery, setting up, and troubleshooting to maximize uptime, reduce waste, and ensure food safety.

You will work with maintenance and sanitation teams, perform line changeovers, and train new operators. Experience with packaging operations is preferred; forklift certification and ERP familiarity are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Previous experience in packaging operations or similar equipment preferred.
• Technical Skills: perform routine maintenance and minor adjustments on machinery; troubleshoot common issues.
• Language Skills: read, comprehend, and compose in English or Spanish.
• Computer Skills: use Microsoft applications and ERP/monitoring software.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging machinery up to two processes; set up and adjust machines; monitor operation to correct minor issues and minimize downtime.
• Work with Operator Helpers to ensure line efficiency and clean, organized work areas.
• Operate forklift as needed to support packaging department.
• Inspect products for quality; conduct equipment checks; document quality events and defects with supervisor.
• Perform line changeovers with sanitation/QA teams; ensure materials meet specs.
• Follow Safety & Food Safety/Quality policies; report incidents and participate in RCAs.
• Maintain ERP inventory accuracy; reconcile physical inventory with ERP records.
• Use Windows and iPad apps to document reporting and communicate; support training of new employees.
