Job summary

Idahoan Foods is seeking a Packaging Lead to supervise the packaging department, ensuring safe, efficient operations and strict adherence to quality standards.

You will coordinate changeovers, manage ERP inventory, and drive Lean initiatives while mentoring operators and maintaining accurate reporting.

Collaborating with Sanitation, Quality and Maintenance, you will train staff, address issues quickly, and uphold food safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2 years packaging operations experience.
• Able to perform routine maintenance and minor adjustments on packaging machinery.
• Read and follow English instructions; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP platforms; forklift certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily packaging dept operations; ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate line changeovers; lead changeover teams and maintain sanitation standards.
• Ensure safety and quality policies are followed; report incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain ERP inventory accuracy; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Apply Lean manufacturing to reduce waste and drive process improvements.
• Use Windows and iPad-based tools for reporting and documentation; communicate professionally.
• Train, coach and mentor packaging staff; onboard new employees and close skill gaps.
