Job summary

Fresh Express is seeking a packaging machine operator responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing form and seal packaging equipment. You will program machines for correct sizes, weights, and dates, verify setups post-sanitation, and keep a clean, safe work area while ensuring product quality.

You will also perform routine logs, follow the production schedule, and conduct comprehensive quality tests including oxygen, weight, seal integrity, and temperature checks.

Qualifications

• Able to work 6 consecutive days, overtime and weekends.
• Basic mechanical and math skills.
• Ability to write routine reports.
• Capable of meeting all testing frequencies in a fast paced environment.
• Able to operate measuring instruments (weight scale, thermometer).
• Able to lift 25 lbs and stand for 8 hours or more.
• Work in a noisy, wet, cold environment (~36°F).
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair and perform general maintenance on form and seal packaging machines.
• Program machines for proper size, weight, codes and dates for each bag produced.
• Verify machine setup and sanitation readiness, including scales.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and ensure product safety and quality.
• Record hourly production updates and complete required logs.
• Follow daily production schedule and adjust as needed.
• Conduct product quality checks (oxygen, cut quality, weight, seal integrity, temperature, bar codes).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
