Packaging Machine Operator

Pay Rate:

$21.95 /hourly

Shifts: Day, Swing, and Graveyard | Must be open to all shifts and days

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Machine Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain packaging machinery, ensuring products are packaged efficiently and meet quality standards. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Dress Code:

Steel toes or work boots

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Machine Efficiency: Anticipate film and coding ribbon changes to maximize machine uptime.
2. Line Logs: Fill out paperwork accurately and legibly. Use bar coding equipment as required.
3. Personnel: Assist in training new employees.
4. Troubleshooting: Monitor equipment, identify and correct problems. Contact supervision or maintenance for persistent issues. Use tools for minor adjustments as needed.
5. Targets/Goals: Know the targets for the work center and adjust equipment accordingly.
6. Packaging Supplies: Check for defects and ensure proper film, boxes, dividers, etc., are used.
7. Input Material: Monitor products for defects, ensuring size, bleaching/unbleaching, and dryness meet standards.
8. Finished Product Quality: Constantly monitor finished bags for appearance, printing, sealing, etc.
9. Weight Control: Monitor and adjust package weights to meet giveaway targets.

Education:

HS Diploma or equivalent

Qualifications:

• Must pass Machine Operator test.
• Food packing experience highly preferred.
