Utz Quality Foods is seeking to expand our dedicated, career-oriented, and customer-focused team. We are currently hiring a Packaging Machine Operator for our High Street facility in Hanover, PA, on the Weekend Night shift.

This role offers a consistent schedule: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up packaging lines properly and efficiently.
• Complete daily operator checklists at shift changes and startup.
• Ensure proper operation and calibration of scales on packaging machines.
• Retrieve packaging film from the warehouse, ensuring correct codes and pricing are printed.
• Use appropriate formers and adjust temperatures for proper seals.
• Monitor packaging quality hourly, checking item weight, seals, codes, and pricing.
• Record film usage and waste percentages.
• Collaborate harmoniously with team members.
• Communicate with incoming shift operators about issues or improvements.
• Maintain efficient line operations and report potential contamination issues.
• Assist with machine repairs as needed.
• Train new operators when required.
• Keep work environment organized and sanitary, completing sanitation tasks.
• Complete production records, reports, and correct scanning errors.
• Perform quality and food safety tasks associated with the role.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Knowledge of packaging machinery and equipment.
• Willingness to obtain a forklift license.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.
• Strong team communication skills.
