Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. seeks a Packaging Supervisor to direct sugar packaging on rotating shifts, lead unionized teams, and ensure GMP compliance. The role emphasizes on-floor leadership, meeting safety, quality, and cost targets while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will supervise up to 35 employees per shift, manage performance, and coordinate with maintenance to sustain equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervision in industrial food manufacturing/production.
• Experience leading unionized production teams.
• Knowledge of GMPs and safety procedures.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Monitor production performance and address issues in real time.
• Lead shift meetings and communicate department priorities.
• Manage attendance, overtime, and disciplinary actions.
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen to improve efficiency.
• Ensure documentation for production, quality and safety is complete.
