Job summary

The ASR Group family of companies is seeking a Packaging Supervisor to direct cane sugar packaging on rotating shifts at Chalmette, LA. Lead union teams, enforce GMPs, and drive safety, quality, and efficiency targets on the production floor.

You will supervise daily activities, monitor performance, and ensure schedules, OEE, and waste targets are met, while guiding continuous improvement initiatives and root-cause analysis in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-years experience in an industrial food manufacturing/production environment supervising shift employees.
• Continuous Improvement or quality certification(s) strongly preferred
• Industrial electric background, computer, PLC programming, mechanical troubleshooting preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Monitor production performance for assigned areas and address issues in real time.
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining OEE and waste targets.
• Conduct daily huddle meetings and communicate priorities within departments.
• Manage employee performance, attendance, overtime coverage, and disciplinary actions as required.
• Follow Standard Work to achieve production result through employee leadership in a unionized environment.
• Conducts regular shift meetings regarding safety, production, quality and other important information.
• Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
