Job summary

FMC Corporation in Philadelphia seeks an NA Packaging Improvement Engineer to lead packaging line layouts, optimize equipment design, and support new product launches with packaging development and testing.

You will collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure safety, compliance with 49 CFR, IMDG, and IATA, and drive sustainable packaging improvements across FMC's operations.

Qualifications

BS in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
2–5 years of packaging experience in chemical related field operations.
5–7 years of experience in a chemical operations environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Review equipment changes to assess proposed packaging equipment and revisions to existing.
Ensure packaging and packaging equipment abides by Regulatory and FMC Safety Standards.
Support Packaging Responsible Care and Sustainability initiatives; drive waste reduction and process improvements.
Coordinate laboratory testing of packages and packaging materials for chemical compatibility; develop test methods and data analysis.
Work with R&D, Applications Technology, Marketing, Manufacturing, and external customers/suppliers to support packaging projects.
