Job summary

LTS is seeking an experienced Application Packaging Engineer to support enterprise Windows packaging and deployment for a large federal environment within the VA's enterprise IT. This hands‑on role owns the full lifecycle from requirements through production‑ready packages at scale.

You will build MSI/MSIX installs, gather requirements from internal customers, and troubleshoot issues using ProcMon and MSI logs to ensure reliable, scalable deployment across endpoints.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of hands-on application packaging experience.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Registry.
• Experience with Flexera AdminStudio and InstallShield.
• Troubleshoot packaging issues using ProcMon, MSI logs, and Windows Event Logs.
• Deep familiarity with Windows Installer internals.
• PowerShell and/or CMD scripting is essential.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust for VA.
• Experience testing compatibility with Windows/ Citrix environments.
• Demonstrated remote-work experience and strong documentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Build silent installation packages in MSI, MST, and MSIX formats and validate on Windows 11.
• Engage with internal customers to gather packaging requirements and translate them at scale.
• Execute end-to-end packaging activities: source validation, build, testing, deployment and production support.
• Troubleshoot packaging and deployment issues and implement corrective actions quickly.
• Query and modify Windows Registry as part of packaging workflows.
• Participate in peer reviews to ensure quality and consistency with standards.
• Ensure prerequisites and dependencies meet organizational packaging standards.
