Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging seeks a disciplined Capital Projects Manager to lead complex manufacturing projects for PET preforms and rigid containers across multiple sites.

You will review new products from a manufacturing perspective, manage scope, budget and timing, and drive productivity and cost-reduction initiatives. This role requires seven years of engineering experience, strong leadership, and the ability to travel about 60%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years in plastics packaging with 7+ years in project management.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an actionable implementation plan with cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure against project requirements; plan upgrades and expansions.
• Analyze equipment performance and costs, including machinery, tooling, workflow, and vendors.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budget issues; publish weekly project status reports.
• Create and maintain division-level technical specifications and standards for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants regularly to monitor long-term project performance and address issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance to standards.
• Travel ~60%.
